Raised in the south, mainly in Alabama and Florida, Dr. David H. Weems attended Wake Forest University and Auburn University for undergraduate training. He subsequently earned his medical degree at the University of Florida in Gainesville where he also completed his internship and residency in radiation therapy at the affiliated Shands Hospital. In 1989 Dr. Weems co-founded the South Georgia Center for Cancer Care in Statesboro. He served as the managing partner for both practices until deciding to devote his time solely to his patients in Statesboro and surrounding areas in 2008. Dr. Weems is widely respected by his colleagues and has numerous research papers, publications and professional presentations to his credit. He and his wife have two children and like to spend as much time as possible outdoors enjoying activities such as fishing and boating.
